The results are in from our 2012 HOA Survey. We had 28 people complete the survey. Here are some highlights:
- 60% of the people that completed the survey have lived in the subdivision for 10 plus years.
- 92% of the people that took the survey live on Bramlett Blvd or Marta Crane Drive.
- 85% are dues paying members.
- If we are going to do events, sumertime events seem to be the most requested.
- 33% would be willing to host a neighborhood event at their home.
- 85% say that they would be willing to participate in HOA work days if they get a $20 coupon for 2 hours of work.
- 42% think we should move HOA meetings to a later time and 35% think we should move it to a weekend and give away door prizes.
For question 20, the higher the average ranking, the lower it was rated. I know it seems counter intuitive, but that is the way the results print out in PDF format. Here is the rank order:
- Install new wood deck and privacy fence to the left of swimming pool to expand recreation area.
- Install new fence around pool.
- Pressure wash signs at front of subdivision as well as all curbs and sidewalks in common areas.
- Improve the lighting on the sign at the entrance at Marta Crane.
- Install new letters on signs at front of subdivision.
- Improve landscaping around tennis courts
- Install nice basketball goals on one of tennis courts.
- Host more HOA funded events.
If you click here Survey Summary PDF, you can view a copy of the results (without the open ended comments since some of them are probably best left private). Unfortunately, we don’t have the money to do numbers one and two this year. Also, I’m concerned that we won’t have time to get number one complete between April 1 (when most dues should be received) and May 18 (when the pool opens). We may need to postpone these things until next year and do some less expensive things on the list. The deck will cost us over $6,000 if we pay someone to do it all. We could save about $2,000 on this expense if we had enough guys who want to dedicate a couple weekends to get it done. The fence is about a $4,500 expense if we go with aluminum. New letters on the sign could cost us over $1,000 depending on how nice they are. We can definitely do the pressure washing work and install new lighting on Marta Crane. We also plan to improve the landscaping around the tennis courts because the tennis court area does not look good and a little pressure washing, mulch and flowers could make it look a lot better just like the entrance to the subdivision. We can also paint the storage shed to make it look a bit better and repair the shingles on the roof. We could get one new basketball goal installed on the tennis courts for about $1,600, but we would need to make some enhancements to the gate at the tennis courts to prevent non-members from accessing the area which will run up the total cost over $2,000.
I hope the information above helps demonstrate that we have taken the feedback seriously and we are looking at ways to make things happen. Click here to view a 2013 Financial Summary. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.
