Happy Thanksgiving!  Several people have asked if there is a way to cast a vote in the election without attending the meeting that is planned for 11/27.  I have reviewed the bylaws of our association and based on what I read in section 3.5, homeowners may cast their vote by proxy.

Basically, this means that you are authorizing someone (in this case our secretary or the board) to cast your vote for you.  If you would like to vote by Proxy, you can send an email to bramlett.shoals@gmail.com (everyone on the board has access to this address).  I don’t want to post our secretary’s email address to this website so I’m using the HOA email address instead.  In the email you must title it “Proxy Vote for HOA Elections” and include the following:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Address in Bramlett Shoals Subdivision
  • Home Phone number
  • Cell Phone number
  • A statement that says “I hereby appoint Cindy Abney (or another board member) as my proxy to vote on my behalf at the upcoming Bramlett Shoals HOA meeting on 11/27/2013.
  • Your vote may be cast for one of the following:
    • Todd McCarty, President
    • Bobby Chapman, Vice President
    • Elma Hyder, Treasurer

Each member household (dues paid in full and account in good standing) is allowed one vote.  If you don’t wish to vote for any of the officers listed above, you may “write in” another candidate.  We still need someone to step up as Secretary for 2013.  If you are interested, please let us know by email in advance and plan to attend the meeting so that you can be nominated from the floor.

Since we don’t have a nominating committee as outlined in the by laws, anyone else who would like to run for office is welcome to attend and nominate themselves for an office.  Or, you can have a friend/neighbor nominate you. However, you must be a member in good standing of the association to be nominated.  Hope to see you there.
