Here’s an update on the HOA meeting that we planned for 12/1. Nobody showed up but me and Bobby Chapman. I realize it was a holiday weekend, but I didn’t think attendance would be that low. Unless someone else wants to step up (and so far nobody else has contacted me to volunteer) the board for 2014 will be as follows:
- Steve Sullivan: Co President
- Bobby Chapman: Co President
- Todd McCarty: Vice President
- E.H.: Treasurer
We will end the year with about $7k in the bank which is really good in my opinion. here is a breakdown of 2013 expenses. 2013 REVENUE AND EXPENSE 12-1 The final version will be sent out in January. I feel like we have accomplished a lot over the last couple of years. There are a couple of things that I have recommended we implement in 2014 to Steve and Bobby. They are as follows:
- Fix Backboard on Basketball Goals – I’m awaiting a quote before determining if we should file an insurance claim. The company that installed the goal said that we are the first subdivision that has contacted him with this problem and he has done several hundred installs. This saddened me a bit because it means our neighborhood has some issues with vandalism.
- Install deck off to the left of the pool. I think we can afford it because in 2013 we spent money on smaller projects (new signage, basketball goals, lighting and plant material, refurbished chairs, etc..) that won’t be recurring costs in 2014. However, to make it happen we need everyone to pay dues in February/March so that we can work with a contractor to do the work in April before the pool opens and is inspected by the county.
If we move forward with the two items above, we won’t have much money to do anything else proactive. In future years we will need to replace the fence around the pool or at a minimum sand it and repaint it. Also, the roof on the pool house is going to need to be replaced at some point in the next 3-5 years just as most homes in the subdivision will need a new roof during this time period based on age.
