We have made quite a few improvements at the pool this year (thanks to everyone who helped during our spring workday). I hope everyone is enjoying it. Here is a list of what we have done to make the pool more enjoyable:
- Had new blue and white vinyl straps installed on all 20 vinyl chairs at pool so they look brand new
- Purchased 16 Adirondack chairs (10 blue and 5 white) for pool to add more seating
- Repaired broken light in pool to allow night swimming (next step is to put it on a timer)
- Purchased three new patio umbrellas to match chairs
- Bought new cooking grate and other parts for grill (including propane tank, grill cover and grill pad) so that all members can use grill
- Installed a box around handle at pool (thanks to Brandon Hyder)
- Installed fresh red mulch in beds
- Created a new bed along one side of pool and added knockout roses (thanks to Paul Whitaker for planting flowers and a team of people for creating the beds)
- Installed new speakers at pool (old ones were shot)
- Installed stereo with digital tuner to get better radio reception
- Installed shower curtains at pool to prevent water from splashing into bathroom
- Installed anti-bacterial floor mats in front of toilets and sinks to help prevent slipping and prevent germs from spreading
- Added smokers outpost adjacent to service gate to provide a place for cigarette butts
- Pressure washed curbs, sidewalks, building and brick wall (done earlier this year)
Thanks to everyone for pitching in and helping out on our spring work day to make the pool a nicer place to visit. Have a great summer.
