Just wanted to say a big thanks to all of those who came out to assist with the HOA Fall workday.  We got a lot accomplished including:

  • Planting more flowers and trees in the beds at the front of Marta Crane to make our entrance much inviting to potential residents and guests.
  • Cleaning out trees and brush around the pool and tennis courts as well as along the pathway between the pool and tennis courts.  The goal of this was to make the pool like nicer and eliminate debris inside the pool area.  The secondary goal was to make the path between the pool and tennis courts safer and more accessible.  We used an industrial sized bucket truck and tree chipper like the one pictured to make a significant difference in the amount of brush and debris.  We filled up the entire back of the truck with mulch.
  • Installing a new light fixture in the light adjacent to the tennis courts.  This light post was installed by the HOA many years ago and Jackson EMC is not responsible for repairing it.  Again, we used the bucket truck to assist with the light repair.
  • Trimming back trees at the front of the entrance that were blocking the view of oncoming traffic.

Here is a list of the folks who helped.  I’m sorry if I missed someone:

  • Tommy Edwards
  • David Rotter
  • Jim Bliss
  • Christopher Young
  • Jason Barber and his son
  • Clay Abney
  • Stephanie Meadows
  • Steve Sullivan
  • Maria Copeland

A special thanks to Jason Barber for supplying the the bucket truck and wood chipper for the day.  Because of Jason we were able to get the truck at a reduced price for the day.  Jason estimates that if we had paid a contractor to do the tree removal and trimming work, that it would have cost us around $2,000.  If you haven’t been down by the pool or the path lately, please go take a look.  We got rid of the tree the old leaning tree that was hanging over the parking lot.
