swimming pool waterfalls

In case you have not been to the pool in a while, we have made quite a few improvements.  No, we have not added a waterfall, but here is a list:

  • We installed new tile floors in the bathroom to make them more safe and help the bathrooms look nicer.
  • We removed the old free-standing water fountain and installed a wall mounted water fountain.  The old water fountain is currently for sale on Craigs List.
  • We installed motion sensor light switches in the restroom to prevent the lights from being left on all night long.
  • We installed a motion sensor light at the front of the pool house.
  • We installed a new, larger motion sensor light overlooking the pool to make it brighter in the pool area at night as a security precaution.
  • We installed cameras that are monitored to reduce vandalism.
  • We installed a chain and lock at the entrance to the parking lot that is locked every night to prevent loitering in the parking lot.
  • We installed a new pool rules sign so that we don’t have to have two signs posted with different rules.
  • We installed a Kant Slam device on the pool gate so that it will close and latch automatically to be in compliance with Gwinnett County standards.
  • We also plan to remove the wood on the gate and install a steel screen/mesh so that you will be able to see people as the enter and leave.  Brandon Hyder has volunteered to take the lead on this so I want to thank him in advance.
  • We purchased a trash can and a recycle can and placed them inside the gate so that you no longer have to exit the pool to throw away your trash.
  • Deb Mercier donated a plastic bin to serve as our last and found box.  It sits between the trash cans.  Any personal belongings that are left in the pool, are placed in this bin. Thanks to Deb for donating this.

Also, I wanted to say a big thanks to Bobby Chapman for helping maintain the pool this summer and being our resident handyman on call.  Hope everyone enjoys the pool this summer.
