We got an email from the Gwinnett County DOT on 6/8/12 that said the following:

————————

Per your request, I will begin the process of getting a petition for speed humps for Marta Crane Drive out to you. This will involve me going out to measure Marta Crane Drive to determine the speed hump locations, creating a speed hump layout and having that layout approved within our department.

Once the layout has been approved, I will put together a petition package that will include the actual petition and forms, the above mentioned approved speed hump layout, a list of the property owners who will have to sign, the official speed study results, as well as some other items relevant to the process.

This can take up to 3 – 4 weeks and you should expect to receive the petition package around that time-frame (late June/early July). If you should have any questions between now and then, please call or e-mail.

Thanks to Tommy Edwards for coordinating this effort.  I know that some people are not happy about the paving work that was done on Marta Crane Drive last week.  Perhaps we can draft another petition to have the road paved completely and everyone can sign it when the consider signing the petition for speed bumps.  I know that at least one neighbor on Marta Crane has spoken with the county about the incomplete work.  I’m told they sent a sweeper truck out to clean up some of the mess.  I hope that the work to date is just phase one of their plan, but the neighbor that spoke to the county did not get this impression.  Stay tuned for more updates.
