We got the results from the department of transportation today regarding the speeding study. Thanks to Steve Sullivan for taking the lead in working with the GDOT. We got good news and bad news today about the speeding study.
The good news is that the average speed on Marta Crane was around 31.5 miles per hour which is 6.5 miles over the speed limit. This means that residents with a Marta Crane address may petition the county to install speed bumps. 90% of the residents on Marta Crane must sign the petition for the speed bumps to be installed and a small charge of approximately $10 will be added to Marta Crane residents property tax bill. Tommy Edwards has offered to take the lead in getting signatures on the petition.
The bad news is that the average speed on Bramlett Blvd was 29.5 miles per hour. This means that Bramlett Blvd does not meet the minimum qualifications for having speed bumps installed by the county and may not petition for their installation. Steve is going to ask when we can have a follow up study done on Bramlett Blvd.
Stay tuned for more information from the HOA and Tommy Edwards regarding the speed bumps on Marta Crane. If you have any questions, email us at bramlett.shoals@gmail.com. Thanks.
